Tributes Pour In for the Reiners as Autopsy Reports Face a Security Hold.

More than two weeks following the shocking loss of celebrated filmmaker Rob Reiner and his wife, photographer Michele Reiner, the entertainment community continue to honor the duo.

Quoting a Classic: Cary Elwes Remembers His Director

Writing on social media, actor Cary Elwes, who was featured in Reiner's 1987 classic *The Princess Bride*, stated he finally felt able to share openly about his personal sorrow.

"Sufficient time has passed that I can at last put my grief into words," posted Elwes, saying that his initial encounter with Reiner left him smitten. "Once we started spending more time together I knew this was someone I wanted in my life."

The actor shared never-before-seen clips from the film, remarking that he could not remember "one day without laughter".

"This story is about love, loyalty and sacrifice. Values that Rob cherished deeply. That is part of the many reasons he was the perfect person to guide it," Elwes wrote.

He went on to praise Michele Reiner, saying: "Asserting that they were a great team would be an oversimplification. My heart still hurts every time I think of you." He ended with a quote from *The Princess Bride*: "Sure, death cannot stop true love but existence is agony without you."

Martin Scorsese Reflects on a Colleague and Comrade

In a different tribute, legendary director Martin Scorsese shared memories of Reiner, whom he originally knew in the 1970s.

"Immediately, I loved spending time with Rob. We had a innate rapport for each other. He was hilarious and sometimes acutely humorous, but he was never the kind of guy who would command the room," Scorsese wrote.

Scorsese mentioned Reiner's acting part in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, embodying the father of the main character.

"His improvisation skills with the best. He was a virtuoso at comedy, he worked wonderfully with his co-stars, and he grasped the human predicament of his character," Scorsese noted.

Judicial Actions: Autopsy Reports Withheld

This week, a Los Angeles court official ruled to bar the disclosure of the Reiners' autopsy reports, at the request from the LAPD.

A legal directive issued a security hold on the investigation to restrict the public release of "related notes, evidence and photographs" associated with the probe.

The coroner's office had previously confirmed their deaths were the outcome of foul play, with a public database citing the cause as "multiple sharp force injuries".

Fallout and Commentary

Following the killings, public figures offered different reactions.

Ex-President Donald Trump posted on the matter, providing provocative remarks that were broadly criticized by numerous public figures.

Podcaster Joe Rogan contributed his criticism to the detractors last week. Speaking on his show, Rogan characterized the remarks as "disturbing" and implied they revealed a concerning lack of empathy.

Rogan finished by remarking that an associate could have stepped in when the choice to comment on the death was made.
