She has netted over 100 goals for Bayern and found the net 54 times in 82 caps for her country. This signing will be seen as a major signing for the WSL side. Her exit from Munich was expected after she appeared to be holding back emotions while thanking the German club’s fans after a win over Bayer Leverkusen this month. Reports in late December that the Frauen-Bundesliga was set to lose one of its leading strikers. Per multiple sources, the formalities for the transfer have now been completed. Reliable Goalscoring to Boost United's Forward Line The experienced striker's signing should represent a significant boost to the team's forward line. Schüller has been highly consistent with her finishing in the Bundesliga. Over seven straight seasons, including the most recent campaign, she achieved at least a double-figures tally of league goals. She claimed the Golden Boot in the 2021-22 season with 16 goals. Building Steam at Old Trafford Securing the German international comes at a time when the club seem to be gathering momentum. Their recent on-pitch successes include securing a place in the Champions League knockout phase playoffs as a seeded team and a victory in the League Cup quarter-finals. Off the pitch, the mid-season window has brought additional activity: The signing of Swedish right-back Hanna Lundkvist on a multi-year deal. The new deal for Japan playmaker Hinata Miyazawa, who has become fan favourite since arriving in 2023. On Miyazawa’s extension, a senior figure stated: “Miyazawa is now a critical part to the way we play. Her footballing intelligence and skill allows her and the team to control and dictate play from the middle of the park.” Lundkvist, who has arrived from a club in the American league, added: “You can sense how much the club have grown in the last few years, playing in one of the most competitive leagues in the world and performing in the Champions League.”
